My Atlantis Bahamas Experience (And How I Help You Plan Yours)
When I was 10 years old, I watched Holiday in the Sun and decided right then that I was going to stay at Atlantis someday.
I was completely mesmerized. The towering pink buildings, the lagoons and waterslides, and all that impossibly blue Bahamian water. It did not look like a hotel to me. It looked like a place where magic was real, and I quietly filed it away as somewhere I had to see for myself.
Years later, after building a career in travel and sending clients all over the world, Atlantis was still on my someday list. When I finally stayed, it was in the Imperial Club at The Royal, and it was a dream come true. I swam with the dolphins, took a picture on the giant heart swing, and had dinner at Fish, and those are the moments I still think about.
Now I get to help my clients plan their own Atlantis vacations, and I want to share what I learned, along with how I make the planning easier, so your trip is everything you have been picturing.

Why Atlantis Is a Trip That Benefits From Planning
Atlantis Bahamas is a resort and a destination in one. There are five hotels, a 141-acre water park, a huge marine habitat, miles of beaches, and more than 20 restaurants, and the choices you make before you arrive shape how your whole stay feels.
Which tower fits your family? Is a club level room worth it? Which restaurants should you reserve early, and which experiences need advance planning? These are the kinds of questions that are much easier to answer with someone who has been there, and they are exactly where I come in.

Choosing Your Tower: The Royal, The Reef, or The Cove
One of the most important decisions in planning an Atlantis vacation is where on the property to stay. Atlantis is made up of five hotels, and each one has its own personality, so the right choice depends on who is traveling and what you want your days to feel like. Here is how I think about the three I recommend most often, and what you receive when you book with me.
The Royal: The Icon at the Heart of It All

The Royal is the Atlantis most people picture, and it is where I stayed, in the Imperial Club. Up on the 19th floor, the views of the resort are absolutely spectacular, and it was such a peaceful space to come back to. Breakfast is served daily, and there are snacks throughout the day, so there was always something waiting whenever I wanted a break from the beach and the pools.
The Royal is the iconic center of the resort, with the legend of the Lost City of Atlantis woven through everything from the grand lobby to The Dig. Its guest rooms and suites have been reimagined with a contemporary Bahamian feel, and you are close to the action, from Aquaventure and the marine habitats to Atlantis Kids Adventures, the CRUSH teen club, and Dolphin Cay. The Imperial Club adds an elevated layer on top of that. It sits on the 19th floor of The Royal's East Tower, with its own private check-in at The Sun Lounge so you skip the main lobby lines. The club is open from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with a cocktail hour of signature drinks and evening canapés, and rooms that include club access also come with butler service.
The Royal is a wonderful fit for first-time visitors, families who want to be in the middle of everything, and travelers who love the energy and spectacle that make Atlantis Atlantis. If you want that energy with a peaceful place to retreat, the Imperial Club is a beautiful way to do it. Access is tied to specific suites and premium room categories, so I always confirm that club access is included in your room type before we book.
The Reef: Your Home Away From Home
The Reef feels different from the other towers, in the best way. It offers spacious studio suites and one and two bedroom suites with kitchenettes or full kitchens, which makes it a favorite of mine for families and multigenerational groups who want room to spread out and the convenience of making a few meals themselves.
You are steps from Aquaventure, the 141-acre waterscape of slides, river rides, and pools, along with five miles of white sand beaches, and you can walk or take the shuttle to the rest of the resort. When the day is done, you get to retreat to a quieter, more residential corner of Paradise Island.
The Reef is ideal for families with children, longer stays, and groups traveling together who want space and flexibility.
The Cove: Ultra-Luxury and Quiet

The Cove is the choice for travelers who want the full Atlantis experience with a calmer, more refined feel. Set between Cove Beach and Paradise Beach, it was designed to feel like a private white sand retreat, with an open-air lobby, an adults-only poolscape with daybeds and private cabanas, and beautifully designed suites.
Dining here is a highlight, with FISH by José Andrés and Paranza by Michael White among the options. Club-level suite guests ages 12 and older also enjoy Lapis, a lounge with ocean views, a dedicated concierge for restaurant, golf, spa, and cabana reservations, a gourmet breakfast, and hors d'oeuvres with signature cocktails in the evening. And as a Cove guest, you still have access to everything Atlantis has to offer.
The Cove is a beautiful fit for honeymooners, couples celebrating anniversaries, and anyone who wants their Atlantis trip to feel more elevated and peaceful.
What You Receive When You Book With Me

No matter which tower you choose, booking through me comes with added benefits, including a full breakfast for two, free Wi-Fi, early check-in and late check-out when available, and a complimentary room or suite upgrade at check-in when available. You also receive a $100 hotel credit to use during your stay at The Cove, The Reef, or The Royal, which is applied separately from your room and taxes.
These are the kinds of details I make sure are in place before you ever arrive, and I am here to help you decide which tower fits your family best. Benefits are subject to availability and can change, so I always confirm what applies to your dates at the time of booking.
What Is Included and What to Plan Ahead
Atlantis is a destination in its own right, and part of what makes it so fun is also what can make it feel overwhelming. There is a lot here, and the days go more smoothly when you know what to prioritize before you arrive.
Aquaventure: Unlimited Access With Every Stay

Every stay at Atlantis comes with unlimited access to Aquaventure, the biggest water park in The Bahamas. It spans 141 acres and holds 20 million gallons of water, with high speed slides, a rapid river, and sparkling pools. There is something for the thrill seekers, from the iconic Mayan Temple slide to the Power Tower, and just as much for anyone who would rather float along the river and unwind in the sun.
If you want to make the most of your time on the slides, the Aquaventure Express Pass is worth knowing about. It is a guided, four hour experience with priority access to the most exhilarating slides, for up to six guests, with room to add more. The detail most guests miss is that the Express Pass can only be reserved on property, and it needs to be booked at least 24 hours in advance. I make sure my clients know this before they arrive, so they are not hoping for availability on the day they want to go.
Pools, Beaches, and Cabanas

Beyond the water park, Atlantis has more than 20 swimming areas and five miles of white sand beaches, including Cove Beach, Royal Beach, Paradise Lagoon, and Atlantis Beach. The Mayan Temple Pool, a zero entry pool at the foot of the temple, is a favorite for swimming and sunbathing, and there are pools designed especially for families and kids.
One of my favorite memories from the trip is taking a picture on the giant heart swing, and it is a photo I would tell every guest to make time for. If you want a home base for the day, private cabanas are available for small and large groups, and all of them are family friendly. They are a lovely way to add some comfort and privacy to a beach or pool day, and I am happy to talk through whether one is worth it for your group.
Marine Life and Dolphin Cay

Atlantis is home to the largest open air marine habitat in the world, with more than 250 marine species, from sharks, rays, and barracuda to eels and the critically endangered smalltooth sawfish. There are daily scheduled feedings, so it is worth checking the times and building one into your day.
Dolphin Cay is one of the most sophisticated marine habitats in the world and the Caribbean's premier marine life rescue and rehabilitation facility. The marine adventure and Dolphin Cay programs support the Atlantis Blue Project Foundation, a non-profit working to protect coral reefs and sea life. Swimming with the dolphins was one of my favorite moments of my entire stay. I help families decide which of these experiences fit their trip and book what makes sense for their group.
Dining at Atlantis Bahamas

Atlantis calls itself the culinary capital of the Caribbean, and with more than 20 restaurants led by world-renowned chefs, it is easy to see why. You can go from a relaxed beachside lunch to an elegant chef-driven dinner without ever leaving the resort. Nobu, Fish by José Andrés, and Paranza by Michael White are among the standouts, and The Royal puts you close to Silan, with its Levantine flavors, and Poseidon's Table, the resort's expansive buffet style restaurant. My own favorite meal of the trip was dinner at Fish.
With this many options, the best dinners are the ones you plan ahead. I help my clients choose the restaurants that fit their group, and I make a point of reminding them to reserve the most popular ones early.
Atlantis Bahamas for Kids and Teens

If you are traveling with children, Atlantis has two standout clubs that make it easy to balance family time with a little time for everyone to do their own thing. Both are available for a fee.
Atlantis Kids Adventures, often called AKA, is a one-of-a-kind club for kids ages 3 to 12. Young explorers can bake sweet treats in a kid-friendly kitchen, swim alongside a real-life mermaid, and spend time in imagination rooms like Dollhouse and Lego Land, plus themed scavenger hunts, animal encounters, and arts and crafts.
For older kids, CRUSH is a 14,000-square-foot space designed for guests ages 9 to 17. It includes a gaming lounge with pool tables, air hockey, foosball, and board games, and a gaming stadium with a floor-to-ceiling gaming tree holding 24 consoles, along with private gaming cabanas. There is also a dance club with a DJ spinning daily and a concession stand serving drinks and snacks.
I help families figure out which programs fit the ages in their group and how to build them into the days so everyone gets the experience they are hoping for.
Is Club Level at Atlantis Bahamas Worth It?

This is one of the questions I hear most, and my honest answer is that I think club level can be a great investment at Atlantis.
A resort this large is full of energy, which is part of the fun, but it is wonderful to have a calm place to come back to. At the Imperial Club in The Royal, that meant a peaceful space on the 19th floor with spectacular views, breakfast daily, snacks throughout the day, a cocktail hour in the evening, and a more personal level of service. At The Cove, guests in club-level suites enjoy Lapis, a lounge with ocean views, a dedicated concierge, breakfast, and evening hors d'oeuvres. However, it is important to note that Lapis is exclusively for guests ages 12 years and up.
Whether it is the right choice depends on how you like to travel, and I am always happy to talk through the options with you and make sure the room category you choose includes the club access you are expecting.
The Ultimate Splurge: The Bridge Suite

If you are dreaming of the most extraordinary way to stay at Atlantis, the Bridge Suite is it. This is the signature suite of The Royal, spanning the bridge that connects its two towers high above the resort, and it is the kind of stay people talk about for years.
It sleeps up to nine guests, with a king bed and two queen beds, which makes it a one of a kind choice for a large family, a multigenerational group, or a milestone celebration where everyone wants to be together under one roof. A full balcony on both sides gives you sweeping views and plenty of space to soak it all in, and 24 hour butler service means help is always a call away, whatever the hour.
It is a true splurge, and for the right occasion, like a landmark birthday, an anniversary, or a family reunion, it turns an Atlantis vacation into something unforgettable. Because it is such a special suite, I recommend starting the conversation early. I will talk through whether it is the right fit for your group, check availability for your dates, and help you plan the rest of the experience around it.
Getting There

Getting to Atlantis is easier than many people expect. Nassau has great flight options from many airports, including Miami, Atlanta, New York, and Detroit (seasonally), among others.
One of my favorite perks is that Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau offers U.S. pre-clearance. Passengers departing Nassau are prescreened by U.S. Customs and Immigration before boarding their flight home, which means you bypass the usual international arrivals process when you land back in the U.S.
For entry requirements, U.S. citizens flying to The Bahamas need a valid passport and will complete a Bahamas Immigration Card, which is distributed on your flight. Requirements can change, so I confirm the current details with my clients before they travel, and I help check the requirements for anyone in the group who is not a U.S. citizen.
When to Go to Atlantis Bahamas

The ideal time to visit Nassau is from December through April, when you can expect the best weather. If you are looking for a good balance of great weather, fewer crowds, and lower prices, April and May and November are wonderful times to consider.
The busiest times of year at Atlantis are summer and school breaks. If those dates are the ones that work best for your family, the best advice I can give is to book early, since the most popular room categories and club level rooms are the first to go. If your dates are flexible, I am happy to help you find the right balance between weather, crowds, and budget.
How I Guide Your Atlantis Bahamas Experience

My goal is for you to arrive feeling like everything is already taken care of, so you can spend your time actually enjoying the trip.
Before you go, I help you choose the right tower and room for your family, compare your options, and make sure your booking includes the benefits I mentioned above.
As you prepare, I help you decide which restaurants to reserve early, which experiences are worth adding, and what needs to be planned ahead, like the Aquaventure Express Pass, which must be reserved on property at least 24 hours in advance.
And once you are on your vacation, I am still available to you if anything needs adjusting.
